New mobile-friendly platform connects young people ages 16-24 with practical resources for navigating life after high school and early adulthood.
ATLANTA, GA, August 30, 2026 – The First Time Adult (TFTA), an adulthood and workforce readiness company focused on helping young people prepare for life beyond high school, today announced the launch of TFTA Next, a free mobile-friendly resource hub designed to connect young people ages 16-24 with practical information and resources for navigating everyday life.
Young adults are expected to make increasingly complex decisions about work, education, housing, finances, and independence, often while trying to figure out where to turn when they need help. TFTA Next was created to make that process easier by bringing resources across multiple areas of life together in one place.
Through TFTA Next, users can explore resources related to housing, jobs, education, money, food, transportation, mental health, legal rights, identification, and vital documents, and other needs that can arise during the transition into adulthood.
The platform also includes an “I’m Not Sure Where to Start” option for young people who know they need help but may not know what type of resource or assistance they should be looking for.
“Young people are constantly being told they need to be prepared for adulthood, but we don’t spend nearly enough time making sure they actually have access to the information and support they need to navigate it,” said Lakeshia Williams, Founder of The First Time Adult. “TFTA Next was created to give them somewhere to start. You don’t have to know the right agency, the right terminology or even exactly what kind of help you need. You can start with what’s happening in your life right now.

TFTA Next was developed as an extension of The First Time Adult’s broader mission to help close the gap between what young people are expected to know as they enter adulthood and what they have actually had the opportunity to learn.
Rather than requiring users to navigate complicated systems or search across multiple websites, TFTA Next organizes resources around the real-life situations young people may be experiencing.
The platform is free to use, mobile-friendly and designed to be accessible directly from a phone. Users can browse resources without creating an account, while optional features allow them to save resources and notes for later.
For Williams, TFTA Next also represents an accessible first step into the larger TFTA ecosystem.
“Sometimes a young person doesn’t need another program or someone telling them everything they should be doing,” Williams said. “Sometimes they need to know where they can get food this week, how to replace an ID, where to look for a job or what options they have when they don’t know what comes next. That’s where TFTA Next begins.”
What Comes Next
The launch marks the beginning of TFTA Next’s next phase of development.
Throughout the remainder of 2026, The First Time Adult will gather feedback from users, monitor how the platform is being used, continue expanding its resource library and identify opportunities to strengthen the experience.
TFTA is also inviting educators, parents, mentors, youth-serving organizations and community partners to share TFTA Next with young people in their communities.
